basetfi.com v2.4

Every open source crypto tool worth knowing, on one roll.

basetfi.com started as a GitHub list and grew into a field guide for the whole industry. We collect open source wallets, nodes, explorers and developer kits, check each one by hand, and point beginners at the projects and official websites that actually deserve their trust.

  • 140+projects indexed
  • 32chains covered
  • 100%open source

Block 0 · where it all starts

Bitcoin is still the leading technology.

Fifteen years in, Bitcoin remains the reference point for everything else in this space. Its code is open, its network has run without pause, and its design — proof-of-work, a fixed supply, no central operator — is the benchmark we measure every listing against.

That is why the basetfi.com index begins with Bitcoin Core and the ecosystem around it: open wallets, full nodes, Lightning tooling and block explorers. If you are new, start there. Understand the original, and the rest of the industry makes far more sense.

The roll · latest entries

A registry you can read like a changelog.

Each entry carries a category chip and a verification seal once we have checked the repository, the licence and the official website ourselves. Three entries from the roll:

Bitcoin Core

verified

The reference implementation of Bitcoin — the full-node software that defines and enforces the rules of the network.

Mempool

verified

A self-hostable Bitcoin mempool and block explorer — the visual mempool view the whole industry now shares.

Foundry

verified

A fast, Rust-written toolkit for Ethereum development whose fuzzing tests catch bugs manual review misses.

Word of mouth

What readers say.

“I send every newcomer to basetfi.com before I send them anywhere else. It saves me an hour of explaining which sites to trust.”
Marta Iversennode operator, Bergen
“The version tags and hash chips sound like a gimmick until you realise you can see, at a glance, whether a project is still alive.”
Daniel Okoyesoftware developer, Lagos
“Our little explorer got listed last spring. The review was genuinely thorough — they caught a broken link in our docs before we did.”
Sofia Lindqvistmaintainer, Gothenburg
